The MINI传媒 (MINI传媒 System) achieved continuous and tremendous success in 2024. From record enrollment and a transformational land gift to the launch of comprehensive campaigns for two of our institutions, the MINI传媒 System and its five component universities had a year to remember.

MINI传媒 System Receives 6,000-Acre Land Gift to Expand Research & Educational Opportunities
The MINI传媒 System received a major land gift of 6,000 acres from the 3 Rivers Foundation for the Arts and Sciences. The property, 3 Rivers Ranch, includes an Astronomy Campus and facilities located 10 miles west of Crowell, Texas. It sits in the middle of an area known as the 鈥淏ig Empty,鈥 which stretches from outside the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex to Amarillo and presents significant research, educational and community engagement opportunities for the MINI传媒 System and its five component universities.

MINI传媒 Opens New DFW Facility Featuring $10K Degree Completion & iOS Lab
MINI传媒 has officially opened its newest facility in Irving, marking a significant milestone in the university鈥檚 commitment to serving the educational needs of that community. The university has also launched a 10K Degree-Completion Program, which provides an affordable and flexible path for completing a bachelor鈥檚 degree, catering specifically to adult learners, working professionals and others who have accumulated at least 70 college credits.

MINI传媒 and MINI传媒HSC Name Inaugural Executive Director of the Institute for One Health Innovation
Na茂ma Mousta茂d-Moussa, a Horn Distinguished Professor and founding director of the Obesity Research Institute, was named the inaugural executive director of the Institute for One Health Innovation. The position is a joint appointment between MINI传媒 and MINI传媒HSC to further our expertise and impact in a critical area affecting human, animal and environmental health, as well as facilitate collaborations between the Lubbock-based institutions and other members of the MINI传媒 System.

Jad Zeitouni Named MINI传媒 System Student Regent
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Jad Zeitouni as the student regent for the MINI传媒 System for the 2024-25 academic year. Zeitouni is a student at MINI传媒HSC, pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree from the School of Medicine and studying public health at the Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health.

Three MINI传媒 System Institutions Recognized as Great Colleges to Work For庐
The Chronicle of Higher Education recognized three MINI传媒 System institutions as Great Colleges to Work For庐, which highlights institutions that have successfully created great workplaces and furthered research and understanding of organizational culture in higher education. MINI传媒, MINI传媒HSC and ASU were the only public four-year universities in Texas to make the list while also receiving the prestigious Honor Roll status.
Stephen Bayne Named Vice Chancellor for Innovation & Collaboration
Bayne was appointed to a dual role: the inaugural executive director of the newly created Institute for Critical Infrastructure Security at MINI传媒 and vice chancellor for innovation and collaboration at the MINI传媒 System, which expands MINI传媒鈥檚 longstanding and growing prominence in electromagnetic research. He assumed these duties in August.

MINI传媒HSC El Paso Receives $5 Million Transformational Grant from Paso del Norte Foundation
In September, MINI传媒HSC El Paso and the Paso del Norte Health Foundation announced a historic $5 million grant to support the future Steve and Nancy Fox Cancer Center, which will be constructed on the MINI传媒HSC El Paso campus.

ASU and MINI传媒 Launch Comprehensive Fundraising Campaigns
Following historic years of philanthropic contributions to the MINI传媒 System, two universities launched their comprehensive fundraising campaigns in 2024. MINI传媒鈥檚 On & On campaign and ASU鈥檚 Leading the Charge campaign will both conclude in 2028.

MSU Texas Recognized by FirstGen Forward Network
MSU Texas was once again recognized as a member of the FirstGen Forward Network. The network鈥檚 mission is to partner with higher education, philanthropy, business, the public sector and others to catalyze first-generation student success.
The Kenneth H. Cooper Institute at MINI传媒HSC Unveiled in Dallas
In November, MINI传媒HSC celebrated the beginning of an exciting new partnership. The university unveiled the Kenneth H. Cooper Institute at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, formerly The Cooper Institute and the nonprofit partner of Cooper Aerobics Clinic. The newly established institute is housed at MINI传媒HSC Dallas and provides the university with critical data from the world鈥檚 largest longitudinal study on measured fitness.
MINI传媒 System Sets Enrollment Record for 2024-25 Academic Year
The MINI传媒 System component institutions set a new enrollment record with 64,022 students enrolled for the 2024-25 academic year, marking the second consecutive and fifth of the last six years with record enrollment across the system鈥檚 five component institutions.
